Yesterday we were playing with one of the many paper airplanes that Daddy has made for Jakob, and Jakob proudly announced "Aren't we so lucky... to have these airplanes." Amber and Josh were over visiting, Amber pointed out to all of us how nice it is to be appreciative of something so small - so true!
Kid's always have a way of keeping us honest and grounded.

It's awesome that you are making me sound so, I don't know, zen master buddha of simplicity and thankfulness and all that, but I seem to recall that I then launched into a riff with Mark about trying to trick kids into thinking things like garbage or whatever is super cool and teaching them to be thankful for rocks and belly button lint and used fabric softener sheets and stuff.
Or wait, did I not say that stuff out loud?
I'm just kidding. It was a very sweet moment from your super sweet little man. He does remind me of what's important in life, practically every day (I can't tell you how many times Josh and I have used the words "Nudie Doo" and "WHaT?!" and "Team work, Daddy, Team work!" and a few other Jakob gems in order to tap back in to the zone of goodness from which it's so easy to stray!).
